Twin Peaks: The Return

There aren’t a lot of TV shows I was extremely into, and not many at all from after the year 2000, so I was quite happy to hear that there would be new Twin Peaks episodes coming. And 18 of them! That being said, it wasn’t until 2000 or so that I actually watched the […]

David Bowie: Five Years box set

This spans the years 1969-1973 and the CD boxed set has little mini-gatefold covers, printed sleeves, and the CDs come in bags. Box itself is sturdy and shiny. 12 CDs. Very shiny, so it gets points for that. There is a vinyl version but it costs $250, so yeah, no fucking way. Not even for Bowie.

Revisiting Sad Satan’s imagery

In my last post, I discussed the game Sad Satan, which was rumored to come from the deep web. Obscure Horror Channel on YouTube uploaded five videos of gameplay with no commentary. An article was published on Kotaku. After that, it gained some notoriety. Most recently, popular YouTuber Pewdiepie made a playthrough of it. No […]

The mystery surrounding Sad Satan

June 24-July 4: Sad Satan videos are uploaded to Obscure Horror Channel In late June, Obscure Horror Channel began uploading videos of an especially-obscure horror game called Sad Satan. I am Divine

I am Divine was directed by Jeffrey Schwarz and largely crowd-funded (I donated, so my name is in the very end credits as a “shitkicker”). I was concerned it wouldn’t be much different than previous documentaries on Divine, but this one really does have a lot of nice older footage, interesting interviews, and information people […]

DMT: The Spirit Molecule

This could have been good. I mean, it was enjoyable, but it’s too problematic to call it “good” because the people in charge are not being scientific. Apparently they did drug experiments with DMT in the ’90s, and they had a small group, it was in a hospital setting. The person would be injected, sit […]

The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh

In the beginning of this film, we see Leon (Aaron Poole) arriving at his estranged mother’s house. He apparently hasn’t talked to her in many years. Her house is entirely filled with statues and weird religious artifacts. His mother is dead and has left the house and its contents to Leon. She was apparently very […]

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

One need not read the credits to figure out Shatner had a hand in writing and directing this; no one else would start the movie with an aging Kirk climbing a mountain. I wasn’t too fond of Spock’s rocket boots, either, unless they were intended to be stupid. Anyway, Kirk, Spock, and McCoy are camping […]

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)

The Voyage Home starts off looking fairly serious. Kirk and friends are still on Vulcan, and have decided to go back to Earth to face charges ranging from disobeying orders to theft and destruction of Starfleet property (blowing up the Enterprise) which were all the result of deciding to go back to the Genesis planet […]

God Bless America

“God Bless America” is basically a rant against the celebrity culture, bigots, and rude people, and how these are becoming increasingly common. Frank is basically a good guy who’s fallen on hard times. He just got fired for being accused of sexual harrassment, his daughter wants nothing to do with him and is a brat, […]
